Mr. Pivnik was the co-founding partner of Pivnik & Nitsche, and the managing partner of the Miami offices of Katten Muchin & Zavis and Dombroff & Gilmore. He was a former partner at the Chartwell Law firm.
He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received his B.S.B.A. in Economics, with honors. He earned his law degree from the American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. in 1983.
A contributing writer to Matthew Bender, Mr. Pivnik authored "Contribution and Indemnity," chapter 140, Florida Tort Law, and "Rescission," chapter 35, Florida Jury Instruction Series.
Mr. Pivnik concentrates his practice on representing the needs of people, insureds, and small businesses. He handles all types of general liability claims including: auto and truck accident cases, shipping, product liability, construction defects and matters involving premises liability including slip and fall, inadequate security, wrongful eviction, false arrest, assault, and malicious prosecution. He represents employees and small employers in cases involving wrongful termination, defamation, wage and hour violations, Family Medical Leave Act, Title VII cases, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, and invasion of privacy claims. He also provides clients with advice and counsel on first party and third party coverage matters.
